Feedback to 'The Alpha Male- Us and the Rest of the World':
First, I take issue with Mr. Bacon. A man can’t learn to
be an alpha male any more than a dog can learn to be the alpha dog. You
either are or you aren’t. It’s that simple.
Secondly, I would argue as well that the CNN article
describing alphas as being “unpleasant to be around” misses the mark.
Having several alphas in my life -- husband, dog, brother, father (well,
he used to be in “the day” anyway), long-time friend – I’d amend the
adjective from “unpleasant” to “often challenging.” It takes a great
deal of stamina to keep up with the alpha’s drive, determination, focus.
But if you can do so, the benefits and rewards are unbelievable.
